A note from Arron and Joanna

A life rooted in soil, family, and each other.

This is the letter where we tell you how it's actually going: the homestead, the growing family, the book, and the community we're building alongside it.

01 · Why

We built our life around slowing down.

We're Arron (also known as Jarrett) and Jo. Arron began his career in construction and house flipping, but the long hours and a toxic pace of life pushed us to rethink what we actually wanted to build our days around.

Jo moved from healthcare into environmental non-profit work while we explored urban homesteading, permaculture, and what it means to eat and live closer to where things actually grow.

In 2020 we planted our first garden. That one small step turned into an urban homestead, years of experimentation, and eventually the decision to sell that property and take everything we'd learned toward something bigger: a regenerative farm.

We met in 2017, married in 2024, and are now raising our first child, born in 2026. Through every season of change, the thread has stayed the same: a life rooted in family, land, and community.

From the homestead

Life here, in motion.

A short look at where we live and what we're building, more than photos alone can say.

Family life

Our first year as parents.

We're learning the daily rhythms of a family shaped by land and by each other: slower mornings, farm-to-table meals, and a lot of figuring it out as we go.

This is also where we share what we're learning about staying grounded through it, sustainable living and mindful practices woven into ordinary days, not separate from them.

  • Slower mornings.
  • Less hurry, more attention.
  • A family shaped by land.
